Harnessing potentials of historical and cultural heritage: a recent study

Businesses acting in the widespreaded hospitality industry try to harness potentials embedded in both historical and cultural heritage. Always. Here, firms can achieve a defensible competitive advantage only by harnessing those potentials even better than in the past and respect to competitors. A recent study (Paniccia, leoni, 2017) focuses on this aspect. Such theoretical study examines 14 alberghi diffusis (ADs) acting in historic villages. Results obtained show that the AD can be considered as a new sustainable hospitality model creating synergies with and within the territory in which it operates, by so doing, positively affecting competitiveness of destinations.
